Speech & Language Therapy

Speech and language therapy session at Al Maali Medical Center

Speech and language therapy at Al Maali Medical Center supports children and adults who find communication difficult. Our therapists assess each person individually and build a plan around their own needs and goals.

Who this service is for

  • Children whose speech or language is developing differently from what is expected for their age
  • Children and adults with unclear speech, stuttering, or voice difficulties
  • People with communication needs related to autism, developmental delay, hearing differences or neurological conditions
  • Families who want practical guidance on supporting communication at home

What happens at your first appointment

Your first visit is an assessment. The therapist talks with you — and, for a child, with the parent or carer — observes communication, and may use play-based or standardised activities. Together you discuss goals and you receive initial recommendations. An assessment on its own is not a diagnosis and does not guarantee a particular outcome.

Our approach

Therapy is individualised and evidence-informed. Sessions are usually one-to-one and often include simple activities you can continue at home. Progress is reviewed regularly and the plan is adjusted with you.

Will therapy cure my child?
Speech and language therapy supports communication skills and progress; it is not described as a cure, and outcomes vary from person to person.
