Applied Behavior Analysis (ABA)

Applied Behavior Analysis (ABA) session at Al Maali Medical Center

Applied Behavior Analysis (ABA) is a structured, evidence-based approach to understanding behaviour and building skills. At Al Maali Medical Center, ABA programmes are individualised, goal-based and developed together with families.

What ABA can support

  • Communication and language skills
  • Social interaction and play
  • Daily-living and self-help skills
  • Attention, learning and following routines
  • Reducing behaviours that interfere with learning or safety

What happens at the start

An ABA programme begins with an assessment. The team works with you and your child to understand strengths and needs, agree priorities, and design an individualised plan with clear goals. Progress is measured over time and the plan is adjusted based on how your child responds. Parent and carer involvement is an important part of the programme.

Does ABA cure autism?
No. Autism is not an illness to be cured. ABA aims to support communication, learning and daily skills, and to help each child take part more fully in everyday life. Outcomes vary from child to child.
