Occupational Therapy

Child developing fine-motor skills during occupational therapy at Al Maali Medical Center

Occupational therapy at Al Maali Medical Center helps children and adults take part more fully in everyday activities — from play and learning to self-care and daily routines. Our therapists assess each person and build a practical plan around their goals.

Who this service is for

  • Children with difficulties in motor skills, coordination or handwriting
  • Children and adults working on daily-living and self-care skills
  • People with sensory-processing differences
  • Individuals with developmental, physical or neurological conditions
  • Families who want guidance to support skills at home

What happens at your first appointment

Your first visit is an assessment. The therapist talks with you — and, for a child, with the parent or carer — observes how everyday tasks are managed, and may use standardised or activity-based tools. Together you set goals and receive initial recommendations. An assessment on its own is not a diagnosis and does not guarantee a particular outcome.

Our approach

Therapy is individualised, practical and evidence-informed. Sessions build skills through meaningful activities and often include strategies you can use at home or school. Progress is reviewed regularly and the plan is adjusted with you.
